Third ward aldermanic race heating up

The Third Ward aldermanic campaign got rough Wednesday as challenger Kenny Sawyer called for an investigation of longtime Alderman Dorothy Tillman's role in the failed Lou Rawls Cultural and Entertainment Center.

"It was entirely funded, and now they're trying to use a TIF (Tax Increment Financing) district. Where's the money? Why isn't it finished? It's been 10 years," Sawyer said of the unfinished building at 47th Street and King Drive.
