Shock value: Asia Image gets talking with one of the Philippines' newest kids on the post block--Shockpost--and finds out how it grew from broadcast design facility to boutique post house and where it plans to go from here.(shop talk)

Asia Image (AI): Tell us about Shockpost and how the facility got started in the business?

Designer and chief creative officer, Pedring Lopez (PL): Shockpost started as a broadcast design boutique in February 2001 doing show packaging and editing for GMA7. Barely two months after we set up shop, we were doing everything from opening titles, editing, effects, and sound design for a total of four shows a week for GMA7: Startalk, S-files, Bitoy's World, and I-Witness,

From there we started doing corporate work as well as promos for ABS-CBN's music company Star Records and IBC 13's show packaging for its two news programmes, Express Balita and IBC News Tonight. The move from networks to television commercials was inevitable, and after just two years of operation we took the big plunge and started offering our services to production houses and advertising agencies.
