Fed: ABARE report backs world dairy tariff cuts

Australian dairy farmers would enjoy a 15 per cent rise in milk prices if world tariffs
and subsidies were halved, according to a new report.

Local dairy product exports would also increase by between 16 and 22 per cent, if tariffs
were matched by substantial increases in overseas dairy quotas.

The Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABARE) has compiled the
report for the Australian Dairy Industry Council, and it offers some hope to farmers hit
