Soc: Matildas look set for quarterfinals after 1-0 win

The Matildas have all but qualified for the quarter-finals of the Olympic Games soccer
tournament after a 1-0 win over host nation Greece tonight.

The victory is expected to see them finish third in their pool.

The Australians meet the mighty United States next in their last pool match but a loss
is expected to be inconsequential with winless Greece unlikely to trouble world No.6 Brazil
in their final game.

A goal to midfielder HEATHER GARRIOCK in the first half proved the difference as the
Matildas set about playing with a bit more flair then in their stodgy first up loss to
the Brazilians.
